Harmonity reads your documents rather than just storing them, so the accepted formats are the ones it can reliably turn into editable text. Knowing the limits in advance saves a failed upload in the middle of a negotiation.
Supported formats
Not every screen accepts the same formats, because each one does something different with the file.
| Screen | Accepted formats |
|---|---|
| Files | .docx, .pdf, .udf |
| Contract review | .docx, .pdf, .udf |
| Drafting tool | .docx, .pdf, .udf |
| Template Library | .docx, .pdf, .udf |
| Tabular Review | .pdf, .docx |
| AI Assistant attachments | .docx, .udf |
Size and batch limits
- File size
- 10 MB per file. This applies everywhere, including Tabular Review.
- File name
- 255 characters at most, including the extension.
- Files at once
- Up to 20 in a single upload in Files. Your plan may set a lower limit, and the message you get names the number that applies to you.
Upload a document
- Open Workspace → Files in the sidebar.
- Choose the folder the document should land in, or create one first with New Folder.
- Select Upload and choose one or more files.
Source screenshots show the Turkish interface. - Wait for each file to finish converting. Harmonity extracts the text as it uploads, so a large PDF takes noticeably longer than a DOCX of the same contract.
Common questions
My PDF uploaded but the text is empty. Why?
It is almost certainly a scanned PDF — an image of a page rather than text. Optical character recognition handles these where it is enabled for your deployment. If the text is still empty, upload the original DOCX instead.
Some of my files were skipped during a batch upload.
Files in an unsupported format are skipped and the rest still upload; the message tells you how many were left out. Only .docx, .udf and .pdf are accepted in Files.
My file was rejected outright. What are the likely reasons?
In order of likelihood: it is larger than 10 MB, the extension is not accepted on that screen, the name is longer than 255 characters, the file is empty, or you selected more files than your plan allows in one batch.
Why does Tabular Review not accept UDF?
Tabular Review accepts .pdf and .docx only. Convert a UDF to DOCX first, or run it through a single Contract review instead.
